The topography consists mostly of high-lying hills, large plateaus, secluded valleys, slopes and typical Karoo plains. A small section of the Riet River runs along the south-western boundary of the farm, flowing strongly after occasional rain upstream. The fauna and flora are typical of this type of Karoo Highlands topography and natural vegetation, making this farm suitable for extensive livestock and/or game farming. It is currently being utilized by 640 Angora goats and 100 Dorper sheep, together with game such as 70 springbok, 30 wildebeest and indigenous small game. The nocturnal life is also exceptional. Vegetation and irrigation Grazing is typical of summer and winter rainfall Karoo veldt with shrubs, bushes, thicket, trees, and succulents that flourish after good winter rains. An abundance of irrigation water (30,000 l/hour) is obtained from 3 boreholes close to the house, fitted with submersible solar pumps. These boreholes supply water to a large concrete reservoir. From the reservoir the 2-hectare Festuca (swenkgras) evergreen tufted grass is flooded. More arable land is available, adjacent, if needed. Accommodation facilities The farmhouse offers luxurious accommodation and boasts 3 bedrooms and the house has every possible convenience, including a 8 Kva solar inverter, which offers a lifestyle of sheer opulence. Due to proper maintenance all buildings are in good repair. About 80% of the perimeter fencing is neatly erected game-fence. The farm is subdivided into 5 inner camps with adequate livestock and game drinking water, stored in troughs from 3 boreholes, all fitted with solar pumps. There is also a large earth storage dam filled with run-off water after good rain. A chicken coop and bird aviary add to the farming atmosphere. There are various good tracks trough-out the entire farm to explore the entire acreage by bakkie, mountain biking or hiking. The farm lends itself to the production of superb quality wool and meat. Ample fresh drinking water for livestock is obtained from 7 windmills, supplying water to 11 reservoirs and 19 throughs. The carrying capacity is 1:38 LSU and the farm can comfortably carry livestock such as sheep, goats, and game. Accommodation consists of a spacious, historic 4-bedroom homestead as well as a managers house and 5 labourer cottages. Solar power supplies electricity to all of the buildings. Livestock farming infrastructure consist of a spacious shearing shed, various other outbuildings, a workshop and 2 large storage sheds as well as cattle and small stock handling facilities. All infrastructure is well-designed, functional and in good repair. Farms of this extent on the banks of the Sak River seldomly come into the market!
